Two Roncalli Seniors Awarded Lilly Endowment Scholarships

Roncalli High School is proud to announce that seniors Eva Aguayo Martinez and Anna Cromer have been selected as 2026 Lilly Endowment Community Scholars for Marion County and Johnson County! Eva received the recognition from the Central Indiana Community Foundation, and Anna was selected by the Johnson

County Community Foundation. Lilly Scholars are recognized for their academic excellence, community engagement, character and leadership.

As recipients of the prestigious Lilly Scholarship, Eva and Anna will each

receive a four-year award covering full undergraduate tuition, required fees and a book stipend at any accredited public or private Indiana four-year college or university. Students are awarded this scholarship based upon their

academic work ethic, volunteer work and extracurricular involvement.

“The Lilly Community Endowment Scholarship is one of the most prestigious recognitions a senior can earn, and we are blessed to have two Royals receive this honor. We are incredibly proud of Eva and Anna. This well-

deserved recognition reflects their hard work, dedication and commitment to excellence,” said Roncalli principal Kevin Banich (Roncalli 2009).

Next fall, Eva plans to pursue a nursing or pre-med degree and is currently considering her choice of school. Anna plans to attend the University of Notre Dame and study biochemistry and pre-med.

Eva’s guidance counselor Angela Maly had this to say about her: “Eva has earned this scholarship through her remarkable combination of academic excellence, leadership and character. She approaches every challenge with

determination and humility, striving not only for personal success but also to inspire and support those around her. Central to Eva’s life is her faith, which motivates her service in her parish, school and community and

shapes the compassion and integrity she demonstrates daily. Through her actions, Eva embodies the values of generosity, responsibility and resilience that this scholarship celebrates.”

Maly, who is also Anna’s guidance counselor, shared: “Anna is a standout scholar whose dedication to academics, leadership, and service makes her exceptionally deserving of the Johnson County Lilly Scholarship. She has excelled in a rigorous course load, earned high honors and led as co-president of Student Council,

consistently fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment. Her Catholic faith informs every aspect of her life, guiding her volunteer work, mentorship and leadership with humility and a heart for service. Anna’s commitment to using her talents for the benefit of others reflects the spirit of this scholarship and promises a lasting, positive impact on her community and beyond.”
