INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana — The Roncalli Athletic Ministry hosted a gift and coat drive on
December 4 on the Roncalli High School circle. The low temperatures did not deter the
Royals, who came to both volunteer and donate. Over 75 athletes helped unload gifts and
coats and served Roncalli cafeteria cookies and hot chocolate from Biggby Coffee to
attendees. Royal Rhapsody sang Christmas carols, and the school’s mascot, Rowdie, even got
in on the fun. A big thank you to all the families who donated. The event collected over 600
gifts for The Lord’s Pantry at Anna’s House and more than 300 coats for Catholic Charities
Refugee Resettlement Program.
“It’s always simply amazing how generous this community is with both its donations and its
time,” athletic ministry coordinator Julie Albertson said. “Even in the cold, our students
found ways to bring Christmas cheer to all who attended!”
