League Joe recently haunted the Monster Mash at Craig Park earlier this month.
Ali Massaro, director of the Greenwood League, recently brought the organization to the new Greenwood Sports Park in fall 2025. The network is a nationwide, adult draft-style sports community.
“The goal was to bring a more inclusive, social, and team-building approach to adult recreation – something beyond traditional leagues that often leave newcomers out,” Massaro said. “We wanted to create a league where anyone can sign up as an individual, meet new people, and instantly feel part of something bigger.”
League Joe offers adult recreational sports leagues, including coed slow-pitch softball, kickball, and other community-driven events. They also host Ultra Draft tournaments, theme nights, and charity fundraisers throughout the year.
“Our most meaningful product is the draft-style league format – it builds community by pairing players from all walks of life onto teams chosen in a draft style format,” Massaro said. “It’s where friendships, rivalries, and great memories are made.”
And community involvement is a core part of what they do.
“From partnering with local bars, restaurants, and small businesses for sponsorships and after-parties, to organizing fundraisers that support causes like youth sports programs and local families in need, League Joe is built on connection,” Massaro said. “Watching strangers become teammates, and teammates become lifelong friends, is what keeps us going. Every season brings new faces, new inside jokes, and new stories. It’s more than just softball – it’s a community that cheers for each other on and off the field.”
League Joe has a simple mission – Play for the love of the game.
“We believe sports should be fun, inclusive, and uplifting,” Massaro said. “We want Greenwood to be known for its vibrant recreational scene and welcoming spirit. If someone moves here and wants to make friends, we want League Joe to be the first thing they hear about. Our goal is to create spaces where adults can stay active, connected, and proud to call this their community.”
