Is this your first time shopping at a Here We Grow Again sale? Here are tips to make the experience successful and manageable:
1. Make a list—and set your priorities.
You’ll come across plenty of adorable, unexpected finds. Before you shop, decide what’s most important to buy—and how much you’re okay spending on “extras.” Maybe a diaper bag tops your list, or you’re hoping to score a great bike. Personally, with two boys, I always stock up on shoes. Thankfully, everything is organized by size and gender, making it easy to navigate!
2. Plan to come back for sale days.
Some tags have a small star or symbol, meaning the item will be discounted on later sale days. When you find something that’s a “want” rather than a “need,” ask yourself: can I wait and risk it being gone, or should I grab it now?
3. Shop first, sort later.
Many shoppers fill their bags with anything that catches their eye, then find a quiet spot to review and decide what to keep. It’s a smart strategy! Be sure to hand off anything you’re not buying to a sale team member so it can be returned to the floor.
4. Buy one size up.
Kids grow overnight—it’s like magic. Grab the next size up in shoes and clothes to avoid those last-minute full-price store runs mid-season. If they don’t grow as fast as expected, you’ll already be prepped for next year.
5. Bring a big bag—maybe two—and skip the stroller if you can.
During peak hours, the sale gets busy. HWGA may run out of shopping bags, so bring your own. If you must bring your kiddos, a stroller might be necessary, but be prepared for tight aisles and lots of foot traffic.
6. Think beyond your own kids.
These prices make it easy to help others. School nurses, church nurseries, and local shelters can always use extra clothes, toys, and coats. It’s a great time to give generously—without breaking the bank.
7. Bring a buddy.
Shopping is always more fun with a friend or family member. Plus, they can help hold items, offer opinions, and help you load everything into the car afterward!
8. Don’t skip the vendor booths.
Vendors at the sale often have amazing deals on gifts, books, handmade goods, and more. Many even host raffles or giveaways—so be sure to stop by and check them out!
