Sophie Franklin founded Flour and Frost Bakery in September of 2024 after rediscovering her love for baking.

“I’ve always loved baking,” said Franklin, “Over the years, I fell in love with it all over again while baking for my kids’ birthday parties, which is how I found my love for making decorated sugar cookies. I enjoyed making them so much that it inspired me to take the leap to starting my own cottage bakery.”

Flour and Frost Bakery offers cookies, cookie cakes, cupcakes, cake pops, and more. The most popular item is the decorated sugar cookies. This recipe was perfected and allows Franklin to use creativity while designing.

“I love being a part of celebrations and helping bring an extra special touch to people’s special days,” shared Franklin, “My favorite part has been meeting so many new people and knowing that I’ve helped provide something that has made their day or event even more special”.

In addition, Flour and Frost allows for dye free options to accommodate families who are unable to digest artificial coloring.

“My mission is to create treats that make people feel celebrated. I believe in quality, creativity, and kindness. I like to create baked goods while treating every customer with care and bringing their ideas to life to the best of my ability” shared Franklin.

The bakery stays connected with the community by creating treats for the holidays, gatherings, special events, and school events. Recently, they had a booth at the Yuletide on Baldwin event.

“I love turning a customer’s ideas into something fun, edible, and beautiful. Every order allows me to try something new or challenge myself, whether it be hand painting the cookies or piping new florals to fit the person’s ideas or event. Seeing the final product come together and seeing someone light up when they pick it up makes all the hard work worth it” said Franklin.
