The 8th annual Clark-Pleasant Education Foundation’s Blue Jeans Ball will take place on Friday, April 17th at the Garment Factory in Franklin.
Designed to support Clark-Pleasant students and teachers, this 21+ Western-themed event features live music by the Grace Scott Band and line dance instruction led by The Sweat Shop’s Amy Skirvin.
“Our mission is to encourage and reward innovation and excellence within our schools by developing partnerships with local businesses and families. The Blue Jeans Ball is our biggest fundraiser of the year; it is the primary engine that allows us to fund teacher-initiated projects and student programs that fall outside the reach of traditional tax funding” said Kylie McGovern, Business and Marketing Intern for the Clark-Pleasant Education Foundation.
“Since our incorporation in 2012, we have gifted more than $536,000 in grants and scholarships. Just last week, we saw this in action at Grassy Creek Elementary through the “Out of This World Problem Solving” project. Classrooms were transformed into a space mission control center where students became astronauts and engineers to solve math problems. As teacher Ashley Vaught told us, “The students were over the moon about it!” Every ticket sold at the Ball makes these immersive, hands-on learning experiences possible” said McGovern.
“I’m most excited about the full “Western-reimagined” experience we’ve curated at The Garment Factory. We’ll have a full BBQ Buffet (brisket, pulled chicken, mac & cheese) and signature Whiskey Sours and Orange Margaritas. Beyond live music from The Grace Scott Band and line dancing, we’ll have interactive stations including a Trucker Hat Bar, Charm Bar, and Cigar Bar, along with a Bourbon and Wine Pull and a Silent Auction. It’s a festive, social atmosphere where parents, alumni, and local partners can connect in a whole new way while directly supporting our teachers and staff” said McGovern.
