Beech Grove City Schools share strategic plan

STAFF REPORT

Beech Grove City Schools shared its 2025 Strategic Plan to the community recently through a document mailed to city residents.

“It is with great pride that we share the Beech Grove City Schools Strategic Plan, a roadmap for our students, staff and community,” school officials said in the plan. “The plan reflects the voices of nearly 2,000 stakeholders who participated in surveys and focus groups, along with the dedication of our Steering Committee, which included teachers, leaders, parents, and community members. Together, we can confidently assert that this plan aligns with the values and aspirations of Beech Grove.”

In total, 1,962 students, parents/guardians, community members, teachers, staff members, administrators and board members completed the survey, according to the document. There were 91 constituents who participated in focus groups, and eight focus groups were held.

The Strategic Plan is guided by the district’s vision, mission, core values, and beliefs, according to the document. The strategic goals are centered around four key areas: Community Engagement and Communication, Wellness and Belonging, Teaching and Learning, and Leadership Development.

The Community Engagement piece focuses on prioritizing streamlining communication systems, building relationships with the community and creating spaces for engagement through improving accessibility to information, ensuring transparency and promoting active collaboration among students, families, staff and the broader community, according to the plan.

The district is promoting Wellness and Belonging through emphasizing the importance of positive school climates, strong adult-student relationships and environments where each person is respected and encouraged to grow, contribute and succeed.

The Teaching and Learning piece of the plan includes fostering a rigorous and student-centered approach to curriculum and instruction that students will be able to apply in a non-school setting, the document said. More specifically, the curriculum will align with evidence-based strategies and be personalized to meet student needs.

The final key area highlights Leadership and Development. The school district will focus on developing educators who inspire innovation, build trust, and collaborate within the Beech Grove City Schools professional community through striving to create an environment where staff feels valued, supported and equipped to lead and teach effectively, according to the document.

“Through innovation, collaboration and a deep commitment to excellence, this plan will transform Beech Grove City Schools — ensuring that our students, staff, and families feel connected, supported and prepared for lifelong success,” officials said in the plan.

Beech Grove City Schools is home to five schools, including Hornet Park Elementary, South Grove Elementary, Central Intermediate School, Beech Grove Middle School, and Beech Grove High School.
