Local artists and businesses gathered at Downtown Bargersville on Sept. 20 for the Harvest Moon Fall Festival, selling unique goods and interacting with other community members.
The family-friendly festival featured dozens of local businesses, food trucks, and live music. In addition, a Beer and Wine Garden was designated for guests over 21 years of age, and free face painting, balloon animals and caricature drawings were provided for children.
Free, live music was provided by artists Phil Pierle Trio, Chicken Bone, and Virtue. Guests lined up on the lawn in chairs to listen to the music and danced along to their favorites.

New bakeries were featuring their products, including Salt+Light and Pep Roll. Both businesses are new to the community and anticipate opening soon. Pep Roll brings a homemade Pittsburgh tradition to the Indianapolis area and currently exhibits at many events and farmers markets.
A fan favorite was the donut food truck, DonutNV, featuring several donut flavors including oreo, sprinkles, pumpkin, and many more, and fresh squeezed lemonade in a variety of flavors. After ordering, patrons could watch the donuts being made and prepared in a special window.
Another favorite were the opossum earrings from Ethereal AvesArt, which won a first place ribbon at the Indiana State Fair. Artist Rhiannon began exploring glass artistry in college, where she earned a degree in Biology and a minor in art. Now, she has a thriving business. She has a fondness for birds and designs glass out of specific birds she has seen while bird-watching.
Other artists were crocheters, wood-carvers, and made pottery. One artist dried flowers and portrayed them in various mediums, such as jewelry charms and picture frames. The artist grows her flowers herself, but also shared about hopping out of the car in the middle of the countryside to grab a beautiful dandelion to preserve.

The event came to a close early at 6 p.m. due to weather conditions, but community-goers enjoyed spending the afternoon meeting new businesses and accomplished artists.
