Bargersville Debuts Yuletide on Baldwin With Festive Community Celebration

Brittney Dial Testin

Baldwin Street in Bargersville was lit up with Christmas cheer on Dec. 5 during its first Yuletide on Baldwin festival. From 4:30pm-8:00pm, guests gathered for this holiday lighting spectacular.

Event highlights included 900 feet of railroad fence lighting, pictures with Santa, live reindeer, stage performances, a kids activity village, market vendors, holiday treats and food trucks. In addition, the first 500 guests received free hot cocoa.

Stage performances included the Greenwood Choir, Indy Jazzers, and Next Level Dance studio.

Children were able to interact with and pet live reindeer, meet Santa for a photo op, add their names to a Naughty and Nice list, and mail a letter to Santa. Reindeer guest “Cookie” was added to the Naughty list by the end of the night.

Light the Line was also open for voting during this event. Many community organizations and sponsors decorated a portion of the fence on Baldwin Street. A personal favorite was Taxman Brewing’s fence.

Due to the successful turnout, this may turn into an annual event. Follow the Town of Bargersville on Facebook to stay tuned for more information for next year’s event.
